Hey, I’m Ellery Bonham. You might know a song of mine from when I went by Eza or I might be brand new to you but either way, it’s nice to meet you.
I grew up ~ a real cool kid ~ on the East Coast singing in church, musical theatre, and obsessive hours in my basement on the karaoke machine. I was eventually introduced to artists like Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse, who all became my pillars of performance and storytelling. When I was 18, I moved to Nashville to develop my songwriting but I quickly realized I had a lot more to learn about myself before putting music out. It was those years that I grew my understanding of self and my relationships that eventually led to my first EP in 2014.
Over the last three years, I’ve been writing and co-producing my first full-length album and it’s finally coming out this year. (we back baby.) I’m so grateful for the people around me on this last project who pushed me as a songwriter, artist, and producer. Tofer Brown, Corey Chorus, Swagg R’Celious, !Illmind, Ruby Amanfu & Sam Ashworth, KP, Dula were all hands on deck when I needed help finishing or developing ideas and I’m so grateful for their contributions to this project. I think it’s been a really impactful few years for a lot of us, and I’m looking forward to telling my story while connecting with you on yours. I can’t wait to share this album with you and see you when we’re back on stage.
